Well stumbled onto this, checked it out further and realized what I had to do. I could have never found a basket case and all the right parts for even close to what I paid for it. So I feel good about it. I found it in Michigan over by Lake Michigan. It’s staying in Michigan!

A nice 701, and with the HY-2 hydraulic lift too? Very nice!

Excellent!! Even has the correct dash, choke, and throttle. Only 2 things I see missing - correct front wheel caps and the elusive 1" Showerhead Muffler....

Rob, nice horse.  The transmission that you posted in another thread will fit on this horse.  Your 701 would have come from the factory with a #5007 uni-drive 3 speed transmission.  1" axles and 4 pinion differential.  :USA:

Good question, I’m sure someone here knows. I’ll be patient. 😉

Catch it was. Not exactly what I was looking for. I mean I’ve wanted one for awhile but was looking more for the really nice untouched original tractor model not so specific. However when adding up the prices for some of the parts and the condition of this one there was no way I could let the vultures grab it. 😜

Since they are not original and not well-aligned, I’m thinking they were drilled by a PO to hold accessory switches.

On the ’63 and ’64 round hood models, ignition switch and starter buttons were on the hood stand instead of the dash so adding the HY meant finding another home for those--usually into a box bolted to the left side of the hood stand. It almost looks like the left hole was for a “big buttton” starter switch and the right for an ignition key.
