Round hood Rim sizes

I'm looking for a set of front rims for my 61 suburban. Theres an add for a 64 854 close by that has decent rims and the tire size is the same but are the hubs and backspacing the same?? To the untrained eye they look really close!

An 854 is one of those sought after models.  If it's in decent shape and runs, jump on that if the price sounds right to you.  Post a wanted ad in the classifieds for the rims you want.  Or check with A-Z Tractor.

The hubs and back spacing is different on that 854.

The front hubs you need for your 61 Suburban were only common to the 58,5 Rj's and 60 & 61 Suburban.

There is one difference between those 4 years of that hub.

The RJ hubs had no holes for front weights

THe 60 Suburban had one weight hole

THe 61 suburban had 2 weight holes

or something like that

Thanks rjg854, I dont think the 854 I was looking at runs but was thinking the same on bringing it back to life but looks to be a serious project.

I appreciate the info on the 854 rims oliver2-44.  Bummer, but now I know and I've got a 4 year range to look in.

If you’re interested in just getting it rolling, you could opt for some wheelbarrow wheels for the time being…
