New to me B-60 with k341

Recommended Posts

Jayoutdoors

I just purchased this 77B-60 with a 48" deck and tiller.

Cleaned the points and fired it up after they said it sat 4 years!

I'm asking for any guidance you can give me on finding parts for attachments etc.

Right now need the "mule drive" for the tiller and would like a hitch. Front wheels for the deck.  What part numbers should I be looking for.

Here's a place to get tiller parts.

Tiller Parts Archives - Wheel Horse Parts and More

As far as the mower deck roller someone really cobbled those. They should look like this:

476499087_MowerDeckFrontRoller.jpg.5147e3e91268ba3e0b7d77aa06818895.jpg

That's also a 70's deck but I don't know for sure what yours is. You can be pretty sure it didn't come with that tractor new since it originally was a 7 horse. The roller and 'axle' are available but I don't know about the bracket. Maybe save yours?

:)

The brackets I can definitely save.  The deck is a 76 48" cut. I did find that much.  I will start researching the manual and classified section here.  Thank@

Very nice info.  I am lucky enough to have Id plates on both tractor and mowing deck!  The deck is a 76 48"

The tractor is for sure the 60 as it has the 8sp trans.  Thanks for the link to manuals!

You can google Wheel Horse deck rollers and get lots of options.  New deck roller spindles can be made easily with 1/2" rod and some 1" flat if you can weld.

SAM-1036-2.jpg

As said above check out "Wheel Horse Parts & More" he sells a complete tiller drive with belt.

If you can save those brackets you're well on your way. 1976 and 1977 were unique in that the B-Series were identical to the C-Series except for a few bolt on items. Engine horsepower, high back seat vs low back, 15" steering wheel vs 13", 23-8.50 vs 22-7.50 rear tires, headlights standard on C's, optional on B's. Your B-60 started out with a rope start which is probably why there's no battery holder on yours. Someone did what looks like a clean job converting it to a "B-160". :D

Here's my "B-160" It was a B-80 when I purchased it new.

I have 2 or 3 of those 'flat bar' roller shafts here...  can also get you the left side bracket from an old deck.

You can, of course, use the one-piece formed found bar for the roller shaft.  Have 5 or 6 of those...with or without roller.

These have NEW nylon bushings...

Wow , nice tractor.    I mow with 42"  and 48" decks  0n 12, 17 and 20HP tractors.       I have to question  using a 6-7HP  engine to crank a 48" deck.

I'm sure it will do it, but in lower gears.

Oops, I just noticed She has a big block transplant.    :greetings-clappingorange:

Nice!  Beautiful area, Yankee Springs…  We used to camp seasonally at Sharp Park at Yankee Springs and Deep Lake Rd.  Small world, eh?  :handgestures-thumbupright:  If you’re ever back home and wanna swing in, I have a small collection for viewing and I tend to talk about tractors on occasion :hide:

Unfortunately I don’t have any of the things you were looking for for your mower deck or tiller.

@Lil’ Pullstart and I getting ready for Middleville’s Heritage Days Parade last year and a couple other pics of some of our stuff:
