how to wire a new voltage regulator on my 1967 1057

Recommended Posts

i have recently replaced the motor on my 1057 from a Koler k241 to some sort of 8 to 10 horsepower craftsman and i did not take a picture of the wire on the bottom of the voltage regulator  i Rember a is armature and f is field. but the wire on the bottom has no memory or idea where it goes so i watched every video i could and they coved most other parts except the bottom wire.  i used this voltage regulator from i save tractors Voltage Regulator for Kohler K series and Briggs and Stratton with Starter Generator (isavetractors.com) if can help me thank you if you can't i will put a alternative charging system.

This ancient Delco Remy literature explains a lot.

DO check your voltage at the battery at half to full throttle when done.

If there is a terminal on the bottom it is the "A" and wire goes to A on the generator.

Upper Terminals from left to right will be "L" load (for lighter/lights) "BAT"  battery positive and "F" Field goes to F on the generator.
