ignition control module

I've got a 1992 GMC K2500 pickup.  I have had the ignition control module quit while driving.  So, I carried a spare in my glove box.  A few months ago we inadvertently left our garage door open and someone got inside the wife's car and my pickup and ransacked the glove boxes.  She lost her good flashlight and I now I can't find the new in-box spare ignition control module which I assume was stolen as well. 

 

Local auto store will sell me a new one for 50 to 60 dollars.  Ebay has the same model numbered ignition control module (LX340) for as cheap as $17 dollars.  Have any of you purchased these cheap electronic parts from Ebay?  This will simply be a back-up part until I can get my local auto store to replace the higher dollar life-time warranty module.      Thanks
