Yes it is.  It's low voltage and not much current, so you don't need to get carried away, but maybe slip a piece of small split loom over it or something.

It's there for a reason and there's not much left of it. The one on my M10 looked similar but they ate the coil wire too so I needed a new too You know you won't sleep well not addressing that

Normally I'd agree but it's the only thing in there and been that way and fully functional.  

 

I only ask because I don't necessarily want to get in there until we tear apart the rest of the tractor to do other work.

@ebinmaine  found a mouse trail going to the bottom of my car air filter box , like fine stainless screening , easily added some stops along the way , air flow is still there , but no rodents , pete

I get that EB. The mount for the magneto is plastic and there doesn't look to be anything conductive close enough to ground it so you should be good to go for a while IMO.

I've had good luck with this liquid electrical tape.  Temp fix would be fine.

Yup, that was my first thought when I read the original post - liquid tape - or even RTV can do in a pinch. it doesn't really hurt anything to leave it if there's no where for it to short to ground, but if you get build up (grass & crud) that gets wet it CAN cause intermittent shorting to ground (and the misfire that would go with it) so often enough a dab of RTV is a quick fix (Field Repair, if you don't have wiring kit handy) - RTV has also temporarily fixed chewed coil wires well enough to drive it across the 6 acres of field to get it to the truck and get 'er loaded. (qucker to wait the 20 minutes or so for the RTV to skin up well than trying to push a Sundstrand hydro unit tractor across 6 acres of field, and far quicker than driving back to the shop for parts which was 30 minutes one way)
