I haven't looked for a new one for a little while but they were ridiculously pricey. What's wrong with the one you have? If it can't be repaired you're probably better off buying one for a pulling tractor if you can find one that has the cooling fins in it.

Pretty much identical - Block on early magnums were just K series with breaker plunger hole plugged off since they used electronic magneto ignition, so you could take an early magnum and turn it back to a K series easily enough (and vice versa) - we did that a few times during rebuilds... mix-n-match parts.

It was rebuilt, but the head has lots of marks in it. I'm afraid it'll crack one day so I'd like to have one on hand.

Nothing wrong with getting a used one and having it planed down.

Over the years between earliest K's and Magnums, the spark plug was moved around some. They went from between the valves to directly over the exhaust valve and so on. Ever found a top tin that won't line up with a different head? The bolt holes are the same, but the plug location changes from one to the next. Other than the "high compression" heads, not much else is different. Also no noticable difference in performance that I've noticed. Your mileage may vary... 1
