moe1965 743 #1 Posted August 6, 2023 I picked up the blower fo a $100. Looks like it hasn't been used much the auger isn't all banged up and the chain still has over spray on it. Attached to it is a rod which I am holding not sure what it attaches to. I might be jumping the gun on this being that it is August but I couldn't pass it up
Gasaholic 224 #2 Posted August 6, 2023 Looks like Prior owner replaced the tensioner spring with a homemade tensioner? (assuming it is attached to idler bracket?)
moe1965 743 #3 Posted August 6, 2023 It wasn't hooked up in the first picture but the tensioner spring is there
Gasaholic 224 #4 Posted August 6, 2023 Hmm. Dunno maybe a modification ? Only long rod I can recall of those snowblowers was the long lift tube & flag that hooked at the middle bottom of the snowblower and connected to the lift lever rockshaft to raise & lower snowblower , and other than that the chute direction adjuster that went through a support that bolted to the tractor frame. Does your bar move or adjust any part of the blower? (I also notice it is missing the tach-a-matic rod to hook it to front hitch?) or maybe this was built to fit a different wheel horse series than the C/300/400 series I was used to fitting them to. (Whats your model number plate say?) Other than that for a hundred bucks, you got a bargain in any case.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,069 #5 Posted August 6, 2023 What is the model number and serial number?

The bent end would attach to the rock shaft and the straight end to the lug on the bottom of the blower housing. The push rod and flag are often missing when blowers are resold. I see your blower has the frame mount attachment kit that requires a long 3/8" bolt and two flanged bushings to bolt it to the two existing holes in the frame.
moe1965 743 #7 Posted August 7, 2023 This is the rest of the stuff I got with it. The flag and lift arm. Also the long bolt with the bushings. I took a pix of model number don't know why it's upside down
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,069 #8 Posted August 7, 2023 Back in the day the snowthrower came in 2 packages. 6-6211 is the basic unit sold in 1969. The completing package in 1969 was 6-9111 for the long frame tractors
