Treepep 564 #1 Posted July 31, 2023 My nephew sent me this picture from one of the app for sale sites. Might be F bag market? Did wheelhorse make snowmobiles or is this folk art?wh.jpg snow
ri702bill 8,316 #2 Posted July 31, 2023 Yes, sold back in the late 1960's. The model was the Safari, as I recall. I also recall that they were actually made by AMF, sold under the WH name.

I said ya need snow to even justify that. We don't see that here

You could put wheels on the front and run it around with out snow. On the other hand, I've owned a few snowmobiles in my day. Sold them when we quit getting decent snow. Ain't missed 'em since. ri702bill 8,316 #5 Posted July 31, 2023 OK - I dunno, but our resident "yank start" ehthusiast @Pullstart just MIGHT want to chime in here.... Maybe a grass blaster or sand runner, Kevin???
Pullstart 62,840 #6 Posted July 31, 2023 I can’t see the picture, but I’m guessing we’re talking about a safari? That’s one Wheel Horse that might never be on my bucket list… 3
Pullstart 62,840 #7 Posted July 31, 2023 I feel I must clarify. If one were given to me, I’d cherish it! 1
lynnmor 7,305 #8 Posted August 1, 2023 (edited) They were not a good performer but then most were were rather crude back then. It would be good for a collection only. Here is the photo in question: Edited August 1, 2023 by lynnmor

Sailman 1,291 #10 Posted August 1, 2023 Actually had one pop up for sale near me a while back. All I could think of was......why?
ineedanother 1,369 #11 Posted August 1, 2023 Seems to me that the hood would look pretty cool on, let's say, maybe a dump truck build? @JPWH
wallfish 16,994 #13 Posted August 1, 2023 Think they had Kohler 2 stroke engines. That would be a cool engine for a custom build tractor but I wouldn't tear up a vintage Safari that was still savable to do it. That front fiberglass bumper car look could work nice for a truck/UTV type of WH build too.
