sundstrand hydro motion block

I'm trying to replace the O-rings on my hyrdro motion lever , The problem is the 3 mounting bolts have an odd head on them , maybe a 12 point ? anyhow I can't find a socket to fit the and don't want to mess them up and not be able to get them out . Any help would be appreciated , thanks  Rick

Been at least 25 years since I worked on them but yes, 12 point socket - I believe it was a 12-point socket that we at the time had to run the O.D. down a tiny bit on a grinder to get it to fit in some of the recesses.. I think it was before Inverted Torx screws became common.. (6 pointed star)  In any case, I'd suggest to first positively identify how many points on the "star" of the head... It'd be either a 12 point socket or an inverted torx socket you'd need.

That's what I was thinking , well looks like i'm going socket hunting , lol  Thanks for the info

A 1/4" drive 12pt 1/4 inch socket will usually work/.. Mine is a Proto tool 4708T

Yep , I think I have at least 50 different 1/4 " sockets , lol not one 12 point 1/4 " . I now have a full set of them . I'll get those little boogers now .
