ebinmaine 67,500 #1 Posted July 30, 2023 The area around the mountain here in Sandwich NH has been occupied by European folk since approximately the mid 1700s. The house building on the settlement you see here was built around 1830. It's been part of White Mountain National Forest since 1949. 1 4
davem1111 2,030 #2 Posted July 30, 2023 Looks awesome! Is that the AllTrails App? I mapped all the ones I did recently in NC/SC. Can we share our lists inside the app? Haven't tried that yet. Right now I'm in almost too much pain to make it to the bathroom. I think I did the ~500 foiot downhill too fast on the last one I did, and beat up my right hip & lower back. It was sore then, odd that it got so much worse over a week later....

This hike was 4.25 miles or so and over 1700 ft of elevation gain.
Mows4three 826 #4 Posted July 30, 2023 Nice pictures, Eric. Too long and too much elevation for my old knees. Enjoy the trails while you can. Tylenol only works so much. LOL Dave 2
kpinnc 12,056 #5 Posted July 31, 2023 We went to Grandfather mountain in NC today. 5,300 feet. Pretty sure I slapped mine five times that much. Rock is rough on 'ol Pat and Charlie! My biscuits are burnin, let me tell ya! Pic below is view from the very top ledge. Wind was steady at about 20, gusting double that. Amazing that dozens don't fall every year. 2 1
c-series don 8,707 #6 Posted July 31, 2023 Here’s how I spent the day yesterday, looking at and swimming in the Atlantic Ocean. My elevation at this point approximately 5’ above sea level!! When the tide came up it was even less. While swimming 0’ above sea level 😂
