Still smokes 2pks Pall Mall a day! She says she's been smoking since she was around 11. Honestly don't ever remember not seeing her without a lit cigarette. No point for her to quit now! 2

I just just sit there and gag one down while contemplating the next move. Does it help? 4 hours ago, ML3 said: My grandma is 104yrs old. Still smokes 2pks Pall Mall a day! That's comforting... ML3 1,203 #62 Posted November 7, 2023 She's had a few strokes & needless to say she doesn't get around very good. Amazing how sharp her mind is at that age. She follows politics & NASCAR intensely. Steady diet of Pall Malls, strong black coffee, & Mountain Dew! She's is & for most part has always been a mean, nasty person. I think that might be her secret???? God bless her...... 3

953 nut 55,230 #68 Posted November 22, 2023 I finally had an appointment with a Neurologist yesterday. I had hoped he may have a treatment plan that would take away the numbness on my left side but no such luck. He confirmed what I already knew was ailing me but didn't have any magic up his sleeve. PT has been going well and and I am doing a lot more "normal" activities which lightens the load for my wife. She has been great throughout my recovery and now that I'm able to do more she can have cataract surgery that has been put off for several months. I appreciate the support and prayers from all of you. 4
rjg854 11,362 #69 Posted November 22, 2023 Sorry to hear you didn't have better news from your neurologist, but I'm glad to hear that you're able to do more. Keep it up! Richard 1
953 nut 55,230 #70 Posted January 28 Mike @Mike'sHorseBarn reminded me that an update is long overdue. I am continuing PT three times a week and it is paying off. I am getting my strength back and on the way to being able to walk without a walker, not there yet but getting closer. I have resumed many of the day to day activities that had been a normal part of life, getting out to see friends and shopping. I'm not steady enough to work in the shop yet but have gone out there a few times just to look around; too cold to stay in the shop without a fire in the stove and can't carry much firewood while walking with a cane. I am confident that by spring I will have grease under my fingernails again. Looking forward to seeing my Red Square family members in June at the Big Show. 4

Isn't grease under the fingernails part of the recovery program? All kidding aside, we are all looking forward to your full recovery and return to the big show.

ohiofarmer 3,276 #74 Posted January 29 You continue to inspire me to keep on truckin. I had to also spend seven weeks in hospital plus skilled nursing, but came out in somewhat better condition. When I got out, I had tons of stuff to catch up on and overdid it. Now I am trying to get my wife healed up from a marble sized kidney stone removal. I went backwards s bit, but have learned which exercise works to keep going. It's either exercise or pain, so take your pick. We all need to take advantage of what God gives and be grateful for our the spirit to continue.
953 nut 55,230 #75 Posted June 1 Today is the one year anniversary of my stroke. I finished PT last week because my strength and balance readings have plateaued and Medicare will only continue to pay if there is continued improvement. I am doing nearly as much now as I could prior to the stroke, the only limitation is a lack of balance. Walking with a cane is doable but I am much safer and faster with the walker and it will be a part of my life from now on. Considering the debilitating affects some people suffer following a stroke I know that I am blessed to be doing so well. God Is GOOD! Looking forward to seeing many of you at the Big Show in a few days. 1 3
