AMRIV1983 2 #1 Posted July 23, 2023 First post in a long time. My C145 was resting for a few yrs. But this morning I got it up and running and was running find and then all of a sudden the it shut down. Tried to start it back up. Nothing happened and also noticed that my headlights didn’t work anymore. Battery is out putting voltage but I the notice the 25 amp fuse housing was hot and partially melted. I looked at all the wires I could not find a short is it possible the ammeter cause the short? If so, what would be the best way to fix this as I imagine ammeters are hard to find for these tractors. AMRIV1983 2 #2 Posted July 23, 2023 Removed the ammeter from the circuit, and the short has gone away.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,047 #3 Posted July 23, 2023 Over heated fuse holders are caused by poor connections within the holder. Replace with a 30 amp holder but keep the 25 amp fuse. The 30 amp holder has heavier wire and stronger spring for better fuse contact.
