Very close call today.

I carried an epi-pen while taking allergy shots, I kept it till it was expired.  That same summer I was at Steam-O-Rama and a call came over the PA system for an epi-pen, it was a sad day because I couldn't help and the patient didn't make it.  It is a shame that they are prescription only and not readily available for a sensible price.

Wow Cas, glad to hear it all went as well as it could have, all things considered!  I was thinking of you yesterday.  I found a pick ticket on some wood and ultimately figured out what TMA means.  Thermally Modified Ash.  It goes through oxygenless heat treating like processes to chemically modify the wood structure to resist rot, repel moisture, etc.  That’s what the brown wood is.  :handgestures-thumbupright:

Thanks Kevin. Great interesting information, I’ll touch on it in another thread.

Just saw this. Scary! Glad you're on the mend. Along with the epi, always keep benadryl on hand. It blocks the histamine release caused by the venom and while not as fast-acting as the epi, it really helps with the after effects.
