oliver2-44 9,732 #2 Posted July 20, 2023 I’ve sometimes wondered how could there be so many “junk” Model T parts available for the Ponds and many other builders to use them in the 1940-50’s I Googled an when production stopped in 1927 over 15 million had been built.
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,496 #3 Posted July 20, 2023 Yes, the Model T was so successful, Henry did not want to make a new model....his son Edsel had to force the issue since Ford was losing sales since GM had a newer, better design car with more HP. Edsel pushed Henry into making the Model A to replace the Model T. BTW, over 750,000 Fordson Fs were made before production ended in 1928.
pacer 3,169 #4 Posted July 20, 2023 Yeah, there are other times when Edsel ... convinced? Henry to 'flow with the times'. Henry did NOT want to lose the floor shift and another was Henry and hyd brakes.
