I have a 93 520H and worked fine until couple of weeks ago when my son was mowing and the hydro temp light started flashing after approximately 45 minutes. I immediately had him stop and I changed the oil and filter and cleaned around the transmission. We just came back from mowing and it came on again and remained on until shut off. I was wondering if anybody else encountered this problem. Reaching out hoping it could be a bad sending unit, slipping belt but know it probably runs deeper. Any ideas appreciated. lynnmor 7,308 #5 Posted July 20, 2023 The plastic fan is held on with one small bolt in the center, be sure that it is tight and the fan cannot be turned by hand. That small bolt needs to be installed with threadlocker since it can't be made extremely tight because of the plastic. The cooling fins on the hydro can only be completely cleaned by removing the seat and fender, if you go that far remove the fuel tank as well and do a complete cleaning. Engine cleaner and a garden hose will work well. I clean a mowing tractor that way every year. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

JoeM 7,874 #7 Posted July 20, 2023 going back to the old bush mechanic days, did you feel the oil filter to see how hot it was? should be uncomfortable to hold on to, and if it is too hot you will let it go real quick. Other than that you need a no touch temp gun. That oil will take up to 190 ish no problem. On a good note, if you have not lost any performance, chances are the sender, dirt fins or fan is the issue. Typical internal issues with Eaton 11 hydro's will make performance suffer and show up real quick as the oil is heated up. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
