Higher steering wheel after swap

Recommended Posts

Just swapped out my 416 regular steering for a 520 with gear reduction. Did not expect this but I like it since I have a higher sliding seat416hsteer1.JPG.0d985e2c6343dc7d634c931e575ae320.JPG. Pictures will show what I am referring to and maybe I did something wrong but I don't think so.

Taller fan gear. I'd use it just like it is.

Maybe find a piece of gray PVC that covers the whole length, Split it and glue to the existing plastic cover. Black plastic water pipe or rubber air hose would work too. Nobody would know the difference.

I'll dress the bare pipe up with something. Not about to cut it down that's for sure.

You can see I used 2" ABS and clamped it in place wirg a hose clamp.  My friend with the lathe was sick, or I would have had him to turn some wood spacer to center it.
