Johnson Model 10 Midget Loader hydraulics question

Recommended Posts

BMW1

I am putting a Johnson Model 10 Midget Loader on a D200.

I am using a 5-7 GPM pump.

The pump indicates 7/8-14 for the pump ports.

How big should the inside diameter of the suction hose be - line from hydraulic reservoir to pump?

Thanks.

They are always bigger than the pressure lines and larger the better.

@wallfish?

I’d say 1” and be sure to use 2-wire hose (not as flexible but it’ll resist collapse) and suitable fittings.

After seeing @Handy Don’s hydraulic work and fabrication skills at the Big Show I’d definitely trust his advice!

Yes, you always want the intake larger so the pump doesn't need to pull pressure in.

Here's an old thread on one. You can see the intake hose is bigger

Does anyone know where to get a replacement strainer.  All the ones I found on the internet have the correct NPT thread size but the strainer is larger than the thread size.
