My 312-A used to do this a lot, so I stopped using it most of the time, just adjusted the height and left it down all the way all the time. I think there's something wrong with the latching mechanism for the handle, but I haven't felt like, or had the time to, pull it apart and try to fix it. Over time, moisture enters the top opening of the manual lift and creates a packing of rust that ends up doing exactly what you described. It happened this winter on my C81 - the plow would drop by itself. There was some discussion on this subject around that time - place a rag or paper towels under the pivot and add a good squirt of penetrating oil or Marvel Mystery oil to free it up. Let that drip out, follow up with 90 weight gear oil. Did mine, no issues... 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
moe1965 738 #5 Posted July 5, 2023 The slot that it clicks into down by the adjustment knob might be worn out. It can be removed and a little dab of weld and a grinder will fix it up if this is where the issue is. Assuming yours is a manual lift 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Without looking at the manual, I think you would have to at least pull the running board to remove that side panel. Maybe the seat and the rear fender too.
