Have a 48 deck on my C175. 3/4 shaft spindles and need a bearing part number. I'm finding all sorts of stuff but none that have same i.d. as my bearing.  I usually find bearings pretty easy but this one is being a bear

40 mm OD with a 3/4" ID?

6203-3/4 2RS

The common metric bearing 6203 normally has a 17mm ID.

They make one with a 3/4"ID

Thanks. I just did find that 6203-3/4 bearing few minutes ago.  And unfortunately the deck has no tag on it so that sure wasn't helping me

@gilstr  what an opportunity , to do a very easy , pry off of the bearing side shields , small putty knife , or fine edge pocket screwdriver , the  lubrication in these , is a generic  mix that typically fails / whyining noise , from heat and lateral loading . a 550 deg or better grease , from lucas , that is also polyurea rated , will eliminate the issue . green x tra heavy duty , and marine grease, are best , wipe out bearing , and carb cleaner flush , refill with lucas to same ammount , replace seals also do the same muel drive bearngs, needle bearing in side pto drive cone , since you are going to be right at the trouble spot , why not eliminate it?  lots of hours / years now on my set ups , spin easily , no noise , also do the grease swap on the mower deck , idler pulley , that is a frequent whyining , faiure ,  engine drive belt idler pulley , no more noise / failure . have this set up on 3 horses , no noise, pete

peter lena one odd thing I seen is when I knocked the shaft out of center spindles there was a big snap ring sitting below bottom bearing.  Fell out on the floor and I really don't think it belongs in there. It was between grease cup and the bearing. You seen anything like that before. I'm pretty sure my Bolens had those in there to and all I can figure is they used them for some kind of shim but really can't see how that would even be doing anything

@gilstr was the shaft groved to hold that bottom bearing ? there were  a number of changes to decks over time , if you can get a trace on your deck , you caold verify what you have . that would not effect that suggested bearing upgrade , has to be something that can help you find out what you have . your model is pretty popular , hopefully another member with same set up can , fill in the detail gaps ,  my decks were 42 and 36 , that spindle set up  is slightly different on many models , pete

Didn't look like any groove in the shaft. The snap ring was about as big as the grease cup lol. I just don't guess it's supposed to be there. I always find questionable stuff from other people's work on old tractors. I will look again tonight and see if it went below the bearing maybe an held it in the housing.

My 87 42" sd deck has the snap rings in the spindles. There is a groove on the spindle for them. They fit just inside the spindle at the bearing. I just replaced a couple of bearings on a spindle
