Rustyred 63 #1 Posted July 2, 2023 Hello again. I need purchasing advice. I have the opportunity to buy an A90 in ok shape for $1400.00. Not cheap. I moved to Austria. 1. is this a good model to buy? (Supply almost doesn't exist over here.) 2. I can't get new parts all the time. Are these models what you see is what you got or do they have a good/bad reputation? 3. Are spare parts at all available? 4. Other?
Sparky-(Admin) 22,058 #2 Posted July 2, 2023 Is that $1400 American dollars?? Seems super high for a model that’s not desirable here in the states.
Ed Kennell 40,468 #3 Posted July 2, 2023 Nay, the A90 is a vertical engine riding mower that is worth less than $200 here.

ri702bill 8,967 #5 Posted July 3, 2023 (edited) @Rustyred, sorry but I agree that it is overriced (if in USD) and not a desirable general purpose Garden Tractor. In my opinion, for what that is worth, it is a light duty grass cutting mower . Others may disagree saying it hauls a dump cart just fine, but spend your money on a B or C series. The last thing you want to do is overspend and get an "orphan" that parts are scarce or unavailable... Bill Edited July 3, 2023 by ri702bill
SylvanLakeWH 27,515 #6 Posted July 3, 2023 Agree with above... even with relative rarity of Wheel Horses in Europe, that's too steep...
Mickwhitt 5,015 #7 Posted July 3, 2023 Not the best Wheel horse, I'd definitely hold out for one with a proper ladder chassis and horizontal shaft. They are about, just a but harder to find over here.
Rustyred 63 #8 Posted July 3, 2023 Thanks everyone! It's clear I'm passing this one up and being patient for the right machine/price. Yes, that was USD! Thanks again.

Rick3478 434 #10 Posted July 3, 2023 They sold for less than that new, and I doubt it has gotten better with age.
D_Mac 9,136 #11 Posted July 4, 2023 For that kind of money @Pullstartcan box one up and ship you one of his. 2
wallfish 17,491 #12 Posted July 4, 2023 The tenacity to find one is admirable! Not many available in Austria but if you found one, there has to be more.
Pullstart 64,529 #13 Posted July 4, 2023 Keep waiting, looking…. I have shipped one to Bavaria, but the favor of freight, taxes, duties, etc. was graciously taken care of by the hauling company as a major favor. I can’t imagine the true cost of shipping a tractor alone across the ocean. From Michigan, it was trucked to Chicago, IL, trained to NJ, ocean freighted to the Netherlands, and trucked to Bavaria.

It might not be so crazy to get one here and have it shipped there, even if you have to pay! I shipped a closed, palleted crate weighing just under 500 lbs to Ireland a couple of years ago. Similar to the above. Truck to Charleston SC, ship to Cork via Amsterdam, then truck to its final destination. $1,500 all in and it arrived in around 23 days in perfect condition. There are many options out there and prices have fallen back a bit since the height of the pandemic for stuff outbound from the US (inbound capacity is still constrained and the pricing reflects that). 1
