rmaynard 15,514 #1 Posted July 2, 2023 My son-in-law has a '73 Scamp, a zero-turn mower and a log splitter that he is exploring options to transport to Maryland. He's willing to pay all reasonable costs or trade for beer . This is a serious request. Contact me and I can give you details.

Stripped down version had rubber flooring, no carpet, but had AC. Made the Used Car Salesman a low ball offer. He told me I was crazy. But as I walked out the door said Sold. Certainly wasn't a Chick magnet! Edited July 23, 2023 by oliver2-
rmaynard 15,514 #7 Posted October 6, 2023 (edited) After a lot of of discussion, my son-in-law and my grandson Mason flew to Green Bay, rented a truck and a car carrier, and are ready to drive 13 hours home. But first, they are attending the 2nd annual tractor pull hosted by his brother this weekend. Edited October 6, 2023 by rmaynard 3
rmaynard 15,514 #8 Posted October 8, 2023 (edited) Well they left at 4am this morning and 45 minutes later they hit a deer. No one hurt but the deer. But, they are dead in the water until the Penske agent arrives. Both guys have to be back tonight. Scott for work and Mason for school. I feel helpless. I told them to get a couple rolls of duct tape, make a Red Green repair, drive until dark, and I will come pick up Mason. No answer to that, and no more information. rmaynard 15,514 #9 Posted October 8, 2023 Well, they drove back to De Pere where Penske is bringing another truck up from Milwaukee. After unloading and reloading, they will try again.

Hope they won't be on !-80 in Pennsylvania, the roadsides there are always littered with deer that have been hit.

I'm not sure the route they take, but he has done this trip many times, but never with a box truck pulling a trailer. I'm sure he will be happy for any prayers and well wished sent on his behalf.
