I have definitely had that same thought.

If I knew of one that worked right on a single or two cylinder engine I'd be all in.

IF original and in working condition, that may be worth more than a 420LSE !!

I recall seeing similar back in the 80's - one of those "package options" I suppose...

some Trans am and the GTO I believe

I watched a show the other night that featured a 70 dodge charger. I had a green one with a 383 2 bbl solid and no rust. It was a dog but was so sharp. and real nice to drive. another regret sale.

Nowadays, the cars have a heads-up display that reflects off the windshield. At first i thought it was a gimmick but I’ve gotten into using it.

Maybe make it work like that on a WH with a cab? 🙃

All I know is that it was a factory option for the 69 Firebird. My high school shop teacher had one and he was very proud of it. More than once I got to see the needle go over 6000 RPM’s (400cu.in. Muncie M-22 rockcrusher 4-speed )when he would drop me off at my house on his way home from school. No B.S. On one occasion we went over 100 mph! This guy was like Jekyll and Hide, when he left the school and got into that car! I can only imagine if a teacher did that today, they would loose their job. Of course I didn’t tell my parents about this stuff at the time. He and I are still friends to this day!

I'm looking for an analog tach suitable for use on a K321 or KT19.

Anybody got a line on such a thing?

A hood mount on a Wheel Horse would be cool, though, it would require poking holes in the hood.

Had a 1969 Firebird 400 w/hood tach back in high school. Now I have a 1969 GTO but the tach is in the dash.

I also want to put a hood tach on my 1960 Suburban rat rod. I got the Predator 212 & performance upgrade kit ready to install. However, bout a week ago I totally messed up my sciatica nerve really, really bad & am finally just getting around to being able to walk again. Gonna b a while till I'm back to crawling around over, under tractor etc.

Heading out to show early Friday & hoping I'm gonna be able to walk it some. 🤞

I've just scratched the surface of looking for small engine tachs.

I was looking at maybe a boat tach?

You are correct.  But, decent spare hoods for a C-195 aren't real plentiful.
