Achto 28,777 #1 Posted June 20, 2023 I started dealing on this tractor last summer. The owners asking price was not bad but the timing was & I really didn't need another tractor. A few weeks ago he called me with a price that I could not turn down, bet @WHX?? can guess what the price was. So here are some pictures of the 1969 GT 14 that I added to my heard. A bunch of loose parts to go with it. The PO apparently did not like to take the hood off of the tractor so he was nice enough to add some access holes in the hood. One for dip stick, one for the gas cap. The hopefully good part is that there was some work done already. According to the PO the engine and transmission have been rebuilt already. The receipts that were in with the manual reflect this information. One concerning thing is that he said that he had never started the engine. Oh, & all the receipts that have a date on them have a date of 1996. The engine does spin over so I guess we will see. @ebinmaine ask if you all would be seeing a refresh on a GT 14 . Well there will be one some day, but not some day soon. For now it has changed from his "to do someday list" to my "to do some day list" Before I start doing any type of rehab on it I will get it running and driving. There was some added costs for this tractor. One spare wheel holder, one spare wheel, and one spare tire cover. They were all there when I left on this trip. Speaking of which now I'm poed... not asking me to go on a score? Not like this was just a booze run... . Just I was prolly busy painting the house. This one is quite the project but looking forward to your progress. So offhand do you know if any attachments from the C or 300+ series are compatible with the GT14? bummer on the spare though. I offered a scoot ride retracing his steps. It could be in 4 ft of tall weeds on the side of the road... 900 ft in a cornfield... maybe someone already picked it up? Dan says it's like looking for Jimmy Hoffa tho... Keep an eye out on local news to see if anybody was maimed by a flying tire is all we can do. squonk 42,525 #12 Posted June 20, 2023 You Wisconsiny guys and your trailer tire issues. Think one of you need to cut loose and buy an old U- Haul truck with one of those ramp thingy's. You can actually hide tractors in them until the heat is off. I had a GT-14 years ago. Had a plow and a straight pipe stack. I was plowing snow. rear mounted under the bed. Luckily a commercial lot and late thiry at night. Heck of a racket when it broke free. Threw in the bed and finished my week long zombie plow. squonk 42,525 #15 Posted June 20, 2023 Lost a spare on my 94 Chevy truck. Heard a thump one winters day and didn't think much about it. Checked the truck over for a camping trip in the summer and went to check the spare tire air and NO TIRE AND CABLE TO HOLD IT! My GT was missing the PTO clutch, deck, PTO switch and headlight lens. I fabricated a front end "garden bucket" using a linear actuator. Mine has the 3 pt hitch which is a nice feature. Some use a rockshaft but mine is a dedicated hydro cylinder at the rear. Other than pull type implements the C series attachments do not work on the GT 14 without modification, as far as I can tell. The Tiller is dedicated and the mower deck uses a different mule drive.
