Sparky-(Admin) 21,318 #3 Posted June 19, 2023 Bears are moving into Ct and increasing in population quite a bit, but I have yet to see one and I live in the woods. And the road I live on intersects with Bear Swamp Rd less than a mile down the road
Beap52 811 #4 Posted June 20, 2023 Missouri Department of Conservation says there are more than 800 bears in Missouri. Majority of them in south Missouri. There is even a hunting season for them with 12 bears killed in 2021. Larry, my brother-in-law and I were walking a trail at a state park when we came across a warning to be aware of bears. This warning was posted half way through the trail. I guess if you only have one sign, posting it center point of a trail is the best use of it. I sized up Larry and said to myself, "Yeah, I can outrun him."
CCW 1,295 #5 Posted June 20, 2023 (edited) In my CT town we see bears all the time. These fellas just amble through my back yard occasionally. He dumped the trash just once. Now its in the shed all the time. My neighbor has yet to learn that lesson. Edited June 20, 2023 by CCW
