Pullstart 62,884 #1 Posted June 16, 2023 We got a 20 egg incubator. We don’t get 20 eggs per day, more like 5-7 with our 11 5-year old hens Is there a number of days eggs can be collected before incubating? Can we add eggs to the cycle as we gather them? Sharpie the day we collect them and call it good? Signed, Already too many birds.

There is a reason that un-washed eggs will keep at room temp. Hens will not sit on their eggs until they feel that they have laid enough. This way their chicks will all hatch about the same time. Take a few days to collect the number of eggs that you want. When you have what you want then place them in the incubator. Your eggs should all hatch about the same time. Providing your rooster has done his job. Edited June 16, 2023 by Achto 3

We have two white rock hens that have been laying on wooden eggs for two months! I never called ‘em smart…
squonk 41,118 #5 Posted June 16, 2023 Cents you have been dieting I'm sure you lost some weight. Still I'd be careful if I was you sitting on the eggies. Hope this helps! 1 1
