formariz 11,987 #1 Posted June 13, 2023 A stressful last couple of days, yesterday being the funeral of a very close friend. On top of it my blood tests keeping coming back worse each time . Visiting hematologist and oncologist again tomorrow for the every three monthly visits. Beginning to wear me out a bit. So like every time I am stressed out the way I deal with things is basically to work until I drop. Last night at about 9 decided to make a key for my tool chest lock which was missing. Lots of hack sawing and filing. It was done by 3AM but kept my sanity and fell asleep quickly. 2 1 4

oliver2-44 9,732 #3 Posted June 13, 2023 (edited) I suspect a lot of us turn to working with our hands to relax our mind. Excellent work and glad you got some sleep afterwards. Prayers send for your health concerns to improve. Edited June 13, 2023 by oliver2-44 1
oldlineman 1,481 #4 Posted June 13, 2023 Cas, we are holding you up to Christ through prayer. Philippians 4:12-13 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound:every where and in all things am instructed both to be full and to be hungry , both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. squonk 41,067 #5 Posted June 13, 2023 I'm with you Cas. Every 3 month's blood tests. I'm anemic. Been that way as long as I can remember. Had to take one of those colonoscopy camera pills which was interesting and drink some nasty crap and a million x rays. All negative. I had to spend 10 Franklins to tell me there is nothing wrong there. That's where my stress is coming from. Went back to work part time just to pay the doctor bills. Now they want me to see a hematologist too. I told them I'm waiting 8 month's so I can go on Medicare. 1
stevasaurus 22,717 #6 Posted June 13, 2023 Cas, my friend, we are coming to the show. I am looking to spend another afternoon at Adam's County Winery with Chris and you. Last time we did that was one of the most relaxing days I have ever spent. Hang in the Cas. 1
wallfish 16,994 #7 Posted June 13, 2023 Sorry to hear of your loss Everyone deals with grief in their own way. I too like to get and stay busy with things that occupy the mind in order to pass time. That key is awesome! 2

Handy Don 12,212 #9 Posted June 14, 2023 Ironic, is it not, that the projects we take on working with our hands and mind, bring us both stress and relaxation. I’ve learned that I can help sleep come by turning over possible solutions and constraints to some non-urgent problem in a project. The loss of a close friend is lasting hole in one’s life. There is no cure that I know of, only determination to continue to live one’s own best life. Prayers for insight, strength, and courage.
