Pullstart 63,174 #1 Posted June 13, 2023 In the manual, the IPL I believe shows the Clinton flavor. The first exhaust elbow on that is a street 45. My K91 has a short nipple straight out, to a 90. This would lead the exhaust pipe to the OUTSIDE of the hood stand. Should it be a street 90 to run INSIDE the hood stand? My muffler is the shower head. I picked up a street 90, 14-1/2” pipe and a 45 with locking collars. Just trying to plan whether I should remove the nipple and 90 from the engine or leave it be.
oliver2-44 9,907 #2 Posted June 13, 2023 The IPL item 28 (kohler) is a # 3/4" close nipple coming out of the block. Now hopefully the RJ experts will chime in as to what really fits. 1
ACman 7,623 #3 Posted June 13, 2023 (edited) This is on my RJ and the pipe hits the outside of the hood stand perfectly for the u-bolt to clamp it to it . Also as much gas pipe I installed as a hvac/plumber I avoid using street fittings if I had the choice . Street fittings had the tendency to fit really tight and was either to lose where it needed to be then you really had to reef on the fitting to get it 360° back to where it was needed . A street 90°.is also restricting on the male end when you look at the inside diameter . Also a the street is not much shorter than a close nipple with an 90° elbow and wouldn’t get you to the inside of the hood stand .
