Here is a fix I plan to do on my C-120 with a crack (came off this forum somewhere). I plan to clean the crack well then add JB weld to the crack before I lower the tractor onto the cinder block to tighten the crack. Then I will add the angle iron fix listed in the attached document. I believe it will solve the issue without tear down, weld, or replacing the frame. Its one option.

Hi @Sailman,

A while back I took the liberty (without permission from the original author @daveoman1966) to edit the document based on what I experienced.

Here is v2.

Ok, I'll give you guys some of the info on my gage set-up. These gages were roughly 3 1/2" in dia. I got with the od grinder and asked him to rough them down to .002 over. This minimized the amount of stock I had to remove and therefore kept the heat down. As I said they were round with a spherical radius on the outer surface. Kind of like a donut. I made an arbor centered at both ends and ground it down to fit, but not tight. Remember I'm only removing .002 and it's finished so no stress on the piece. I got my Moore motorized  centers and set it up on the jig grinder table, used a 1/8 inch dia borazon (cubic boron nitride) grinding wheel. They thought I was nuts. I turned the machine lights off and went to work. It took a while but I finished them on the machine. I asked the bench hand if he wanted me to finish them or did he want to lap the last little bit off. He said go for it so I did. When they were finished I gave them to the QC lab for inspection and they were done. As for measurement, I used my Alina indicator .0001 graduations on a 2" dial for the entire process. For measurement I stacked my gage blocks to the correct size considering the cert. sheet which gives the variations in size of each block. I had access to electronic indicators many times but they were too clumsy to use on the machine.

I'm all done blowing my horn.
