Geoff Cornwall 75 #1 Posted June 8, 2023 Hi all , i have already posted a picture of the slot hitch i made for my c161 , but have had no luck sourcing a rock shaft kit for it . I knew of another c161 that happened to have a rockshaft kit and the owner was kind enough to let me borrow it so i could have a go at making my own . I now have all the parts i think i need to connect up my plough (plow) . I just need to identify exactly what make plough it is , then try to source some parts , or if all else fails make my own , the landslide is in a bad state rusted away . Will update if and when more progress is made !
Geoff Cornwall 75 #2 Posted June 14, 2023 I have made a new landside , it may not be quite right buts its the best i could make as the original was rusted and worn away .
Damien Walker 247 #3 Posted June 15, 2023 Hi Geoff, nice work. I have not used my plough (yet) so I will be interested to hear how you get on!
Geoff Cornwall 75 #4 Posted June 15, 2023 Hi Damien , im almost ready to give it a try , just a bit to do to the coulter . The closest ive been to ploughing is walking past a field ! I just really wanted to try it for myself . Ive read and reread the plowing posts here , and when we do get some rain and the ground is not like iron i will try it out and post a video clip if i can . Geoff . Geoff Cornwall 75 #5 Posted July 6, 2023 Well i had my first attempt with the plough , a couple of issues have appeared . First is lack of traction , i have the rear wights thoo so i will put them on . 2nd i need to learn to stear in a straight line ! And thirdly the lift cable has pulled out of the threaded end i made , this is my main concern , as something is definitely wrong here . When the plough is in the raised position the point is almost scraping the soil , but in the lowered position there is still tension on the lift cable . Any thoughts or ideals most gratefully received !
