Lane Ranger 11,125 #1 Posted June 6, 2023 The new Rustoleum Custom Spray can sprayer is a very good innovation! About $1.50 more than old can sprayer type but it has more flexibility than the original! 4
c-series don 9,425 #2 Posted June 6, 2023 Very interesting! I’ve never seen this before, I’d definitely like to try it.
SylvanLakeWH 27,515 #3 Posted June 6, 2023 I bought 2 cans last night! All Menards had on shelf - no original style available... I'm betting it's a response to the clogging issues reported here by many... While i didn't experience it, i know others did @WHX??... @Lane Ranger have you used it yet?
WHX?? 50,712 #4 Posted June 6, 2023 (edited) I have yet to see them too but I'm thinkin more nozzles to plug. Actually Sylvia it was the valve inside the can I always have issues with. Edited June 6, 2023 by WHX??

ri702bill 8,967 #8 Posted June 6, 2023 I'm a-figgerin' that when (NOT if) a nozzle clogs, you just MAY be able to continue with a twist of the knob. Time will tell if "continue" means continue to keep painting, or continuing to clog more nozzles!!
ebinmaine 70,718 #9 Posted June 6, 2023 Is the plastic can topper with nozzle(s) removable so it could be cleaned?
squonk 42,522 #10 Posted June 6, 2023 I hardly ever have an issue with a Rustoleum can. Must be a Wisconsiny Thingy! Now Napa 4700 brakecleaner I run out of propellant before all the juice is out of the can!

I used pull them off and throw them in a jar of lacquer thinner since dear old dads advice of holding it upside down and spray wasn't working. Know how it says don't put any thing down in the can? I was pounding 16 penny nails in it I was so 😠 sometimes. Now I just let them get really warm, take them out in the woods, set them by trees I want marked and shoot 🔫 them... Frankenstein 58 213 #14 Posted June 6, 2023 I used the new Rustoleum can to paint the wheels on my Rj35. Felt a little clumsy to me and to many options. I guess Im showing my age and don’t like change. 4
8ntruck 7,381 #15 Posted June 6, 2023 (edited) @WHX?? I've had similar thoughts with my Rustoleum cams that plug up 1/2 way through. On a couple of cans that did plug up, I tried switching to a known good nozzle. No joy. I then tried to open the valve without a nozzle. Still no help. Apparently, the clog is on the can side of the valve. Edited June 8, 2023 by 8ntruck

She used a great quantity of "colorful sentence enhancers" and says, "Ooooohhhhhhhh... I'm with him. Nothin' like laying out a nice smooth paint surface and having a bad can leave that last splooochh."

Push down the nozzle, fill with air, release the nozzle first before air hose and done.
Sailman 1,299 #18 Posted June 7, 2023 The older spray cans with removable nozzle always needed a good dousing with paint thinner or mineral spirits then burst from the air hose. Newer ones don't want to come off but wiping the nozzle with paint thinner or mineral spirits does the same thing. Have not had any plugs or problems. Not sure I would use the multi tip version....I'm a KISS kind of guy.

JoeM 7,924 #22 Posted June 7, 2023 I tested out the warranty thing once. Called the number on the can and remarkably someone answered. They ask for the bar code number on the can and even told me where it was bought and price. Asked how many and I said just one. They sent me a check. So uncle Jim save them up, and call. then shoot m! 3
WHX?? 50,712 #23 Posted June 7, 2023 Did do that once Joe. Got a tall can of rusty primer. Got only half the can out & called the number & sent me a refund. Think I had to send them a pic of the receipt.

He got the can and read the Consumer Camplaint Number on the back and called them. Rustoleum send him three cans in the mail. He still was not a happy camper! 1
