SylvanLakeWH 25,563 #1 Posted June 4, 2023 Mounted a HF crane in one of my trailers... looking forward to using it for wood, etc. I can't lift stuff like I used to... Even has an @peter lena fitting. Tacky red applied of course... Works like a charm...
ebinmaine 67,515 #2 Posted June 4, 2023 Excellent application! How's the base of the crane tied to the sheet metal floor of the trailer ? Still dump capable?
SylvanLakeWH 25,563 #3 Posted June 4, 2023 Angle iron under the bed to the ends. I still need to add another cross angle iron beam so it's full length side to side. It lifts very nicely with test lift, no flex, but i want another beam side to side to make it bomb-proof. Ran out of "parts" so i need to get some... Also - I don't plan to extend the boom. For what i will use it for, should be adequate... Yes still dumps. 2

elcamino/wheelhorse 9,299 #6 Posted June 4, 2023 @SylvanLakeWH Neat set up. I have thinking of getting one of those to mount to a heavy duty work bench (that I need to build) to lift decks etc on the bench so I don't have to been over to work on WH stuff on the ground. Does the lift swivel ? 1

Now Nieces nephews neighbor urchins etc... well i've had 8 in that trailer, so if i leave one swinging on the boom it'll hold about 10 or so... Now as to @ebinmaines question about adults... meh... they can walk.

Does the lift swivel ? Yes it swivels 360. Very smooth once you grease it. I'm quite impressed with the quality. Swivel locks with pins at about 8 positions. Boom locks at each capacity point printed on it. Again with pins. 1

They are trickle chargers. Kicking around idea of a canopy with three 100 w solar panels.

Sailman 1,291 #18 Posted June 19, 2023 "HF is the concept I'm looking at... $109 ea. right now on sale. " I am using 3 of them myself to power a 100AH LI battery in my tractor shed. Just remember you have to also have a controller to regulate the charge going to the battery and prevent discharge when the panels are not getting sunshine. I added a pure sine wave inverter so I can power 2 - 20 watt grow lights in my small green house next to the shed. It all works well...just a pricey option.... but it was part of my "education" in solar power, etc since I don't have AC power in the shed. 1
SylvanLakeWH 25,563 #19 Posted December 18, 2023 Update. So after some crane use (works!) and continued small people transport duties in the trailer I am rethinking my crane design. Issues: 1. Crane weight makes tipping trailer to dump very difficult. 2. Crane location in trailer reduces area of trailer where lifted material can be placed. 3. Little people kept hitting their heads on the crane handle... Solution: And: Going to mount the crane to the winch plate and have a mobile crane that can go on front or back of any of my tractors using 2" hitch (except the A-60)... should solve my issues (well, my crane issues...). Pics to follow when components received and put together... 2

I don't have the winch permanently mounted yet but I've used a hand winch or come-a-long to move things. It can also be used on your vehicles with that hitch if ya wanted to lift something to a tailgate, truck bed, trunk etc.
