I've used it and it works very well. Works even better if you wire wheel first then wipe down when done, then get it into primer right away.

The Works toilet bowl cleaner works good too. I have used that with success.

What made me think that this would be any different from all the rest of the 'too-good-to-be-true' products? But, I thought I'd give it a try anyway.

I put a rusty shift pattern plate in the stuff. It was there for nearly 4 days, and it looked the same as it did when it went in. I tried it cold, I tried it hot. I even brushed the surface of the plate while it was soaking. It just didn't work at all.

The stuff went back to the store where it came from.

I'm all for products that make work easier, but there is no silver bullet when it comes to rust. I was in the Coast Guard aboard an ice-breaker. You haven't seen rust until you have had to repaint one of those babies. Sandblast, and beadblast, along with wire brushes and elbow grease are the tried and true methods. If only it were as easy as putting a rusted piece of steel into a container of water-based liquid. I should have known better. I've been around too long to think there is an easy way.

BUT WAIT. The store sent me home with a jug from a brand new lot. Said there may have been a bad batch.

So stand by. I'm giving it one more test.

Works great and as adverstised. Same stuff is used by the army to de-rust tank parts, etc. I wouldn't categorize it as cheap, at least not where I get it. The only thing I don't like about it is that one can not use it over and over again ad infinitum. It loses its potency when it turns black but it is still great stuff and will save a lot of elbow grease, sandpaper, sand, cursing, and whatnot.

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!

Ignore my post above. Just 12 hours into a bath of NEW Evaporust and it's like the difference between night and day.

TSC gave me a fresh jug from a new lot just received.

Four days of sitting in the first batch and nothing. 12 hours in the new batch and almost all of the rust is gone.

Someone at the factory must have had a bad day when they made the stuff I used first.

Click here to take a look at the before and after pictures.

Ask and you shall receive. Don't forget, you're quote also describes an electrolosis tank that does work extremely well also. (pretty cheap too) :notworthy:
