Tim.0 39 #1 Posted May 20, 2023 HI, Been long time since posted here. Hope all is well with everyone. Looking for a picture or explanation of the springs which go to the lever to engage the transmission. Last year springs broke. I went to hardware store and bought a spring to fix. Works but not exactly the way it should. Anyhow I have 2 springs coming, but not sure how to put them on so the lever works properly. I can not find a picture in manual as to how they are installed properly. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You very much. Tim O

For me, it is much easier to put the belt on and then attach the spring than the other way. I loop a piece of wire through the end of the spring and grip that loop with vice grips below the frame to give me a good hold of the spring. Once it’s on the screw, then I add the nut. Eye protection when working with springs, of course.
