ebinmaine 67,206 #1 Posted May 18, 2023 A fella I know up here in Maine has a new found like for old engines. I gave him my Fairbanks Morse ZC3 and within days he had it cleaned up VERY nicely and one of our own Wheelhorse folks helped him get it absolutely purring. He's purchased another one. A Lauson. With that he's got hold of a pump that he'd like to rebuild. We know there are kits or something available. How can he find parts to get this old pump up n running again? @ClassicTractorProfessor and whomever else... 2

Lee1977 6,633 #5 Posted May 19, 2023 . That looks like an old high pressure pump. There use to be one at the local gas station that was used to wash cars every Saturday. There were still a lot of dirt roads around here in the late 40s .and in the 50's
953 nut 55,022 #6 Posted May 19, 2023 As @Lee1977 said the piston pump was a high pressure low volume pump. It may have been used as a spray pump for agricultural or industrial applications. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1894712087489578/This Facebook site looks promising. https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1JZAP_enUS981US981&sxsrf=APwXEddtZ5fxUWue773kMgwWppZiDeQtXg:1684495320652&q=dempster+piston+pump&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiIhdqJooH_AhUclGoFHVIgD4IQ0pQJegQIDBAB&biw=1366&bih=625&dpr=1#imgrc=52f6BYl6x4pSkM 1
ClassicTractorProfessor 5,314 #7 Posted May 19, 2023 That thing is too cool…I don’t know much about these old pumps, but I know a couple guys that mess with them a lot. Probably see them both at a parade we are going to tomorrow I will show this to them and see if they know anything. I also know a guy that lives not too far from the old Dempster headquarters in Beatrice Nebraska and naturally collects anything Dempster related, if I can get ahold of him he may know something 1

Whatever you can come up with would be much appreciated.
oliver2-44 9,674 #9 Posted May 19, 2023 I have a similar old pump I saved from the scrap yard. Don't know what I will do with it, just couldn't see it go to scrap. Actually found an old manual for it. I filled it with diesel to preserve it and put it in the barn. It's heavy! ClassicTractorProfessor 5,314 #10 Posted May 19, 2023 Eric is there by chance a tag or anything anywhere that might have a model number? Don’t see one in any of the pictures but may be overlooking it
