WHX?? 48,814 #26 Posted May 18, 2023 (edited) Called a A-90 special TJ... 1970. Model 2-4300 We have only seen a couple here so don't know if it's rare or most went to scrap I like the motor so going to try and save it. Rest is going to go to scrap lest someone sees something they want. Edited May 18, 2023 by WHX??

ebinmaine 67,423 #38 Posted May 18, 2023 I find it interesting that they waited that long to use up those hoods. Makes me wonder if they had them stored in a trailer or warehouse somewhere after 1969 and somebody forgot they were around.....?

Weaker frame, weaker trans, Briggs mill, that’s the only Special of it’s kind that I’m aware of other than UJ Kevin said it best - (he forgot to add in the "all or nuttin" E-lectric Clutch) - unless you already have ALL the necessary parts in hand or lined up, OR a bucket of throwaway cash.... you can go thru the motions, but what do you really end up with in the end ?? OK - I see it either as a "One Year Wonder" or an abandoned orphan. My opinion........... Got it for free - save the engine and maybe the hood... deep six the rest. I'm thinking both of those are true. 3 hours ago, ri702bill said: My opinion........... Got it for free - save the engine and THE REST I'd see it a hair different for a few reasons. Jim collects and obviously enjoys the small square hoods. He likes that Briggs engine. It's sure as heck unique. If that was here in our yard it'd likely be put in line for restoration and utilization. Trina likes the small square hoods. I have been a Briggs fan for decades. Unique can be a challenge but.. it's not the least bit the same as every other rig around.
