WHX??

Called a A-90 special TJ... 1970.

Model 2-4300

We have only seen a couple here so don't know if it's rare or most went to scrap :eusa-doh:

I like the motor so going to try and save it. Rest is going to go to scrap lest someone sees something they want.

They didn't make a tractor with a Briggs on a tractor In 1970

Looks like a c series with a late 60s hood with a 8 hp Briggs off a 800. And a peerless tranny.

So I was close though.

They took leftover hoods from the 60s and put on them.

Looking at the master model list - 1974 was the only year for an A90 special

'76 & '77 for a strait A90

That's where I looked at and that's what threw me off they were only made in 1974

I find it interesting that they waited that long to use up those hoods.

Makes me wonder if they had them stored in a trailer or warehouse somewhere after 1969 and somebody forgot they were around.....?

Now that is what i am talking about, "parts tractor for a parts tractor!"

And you can't beat "free is for me!" :handgestures-thumbupright:

Whaaaaat? Weaker frame, weaker trans, Briggs mill, that’s the only Special of it’s kind that I’m aware of other than UJ

Kevin said it best - (he forgot to add in the "all or nuttin" E-lectric Clutch) - unless you already have ALL the necessary parts in hand or lined up, OR a bucket of throwaway cash.... you can go thru the motions, but what do you really end up with in the end ?? OK - I see it either as a "One Year Wonder" or an abandoned orphan. My opinion........... Got it for free - save the engine and maybe the hood... deep six the rest.

Really just what does a guy do with it. PO says everything is there to put it together but I have a feeling some parts went with the wind.

Fender pan seen better days.

NOS "Green" fender pan. Absorbs water, cuts down on carbon footprint... :handgestures-thumbupright:

I'm thinking both of those are true.

I'd see it a hair different for a few reasons.

Jim collects and obviously enjoys the small square hoods.

He likes that Briggs engine.

It's sure as heck unique.

If that was here in our yard it'd likely be put in line for restoration and utilization.

Trina likes the small square hoods.

I have been a Briggs fan for decades.

Unique can be a challenge but.. it's not the least bit the same as every other rig around.

Sure ... right behind a 701 & Amigo to finish. Mechanical resto on a 56 RJ. Turning aunt B into a plow mule. 400 with a cranky Clinton, 59 RJ that needs love.

Maintaining the rest of the fleet. Then there's the honey do and tractor shows & keeping Dan in line

..Good golly miss Molly I got no time!

‘56?  Garsh that sounds awfully old!  You might want to just leave it on the road side for next time I swing by!
