Just curious if any of you guys have done the bushing to bearing upgrade on your front wheels? The ones i was looking at was the HD Switch. Says it replaces the 110513 wheel bearing? Do you need a whole new upgrade kit or just the new bearings?? Really need to do new bearings on my C145, and my 2005 Classic GT but I want to get the right parts on the first shot! I didn't even know until yesterday, that there was a bushing to bearing upgrade out there!!! lol

Thank in advance

Terry

Bought 2 sets - My C81 already had flanged ball bearings, the 854 did not. I used their "kit" - the installed length thru the hub will change slightly, used their washers to adjust.

I used the second set on my 502 - huge improvement...

:confusion-confused:Out of the many tractors that I have, non of them have had bushings on the front wheels.

1 3/8" o.d. x 3/4" i.d. flanged bearings on every thing with the exception of my 953, D160, & 520. These tractors require different bearings.

WHX??

I swap all of mine out. Mostly early sixties had bushings.

I just use the ones Dan posted above.

Greasy Pete is gonna tell you to pop the inner seal out if it has one and regrease with red tacky. He's right they don't have much grease in them.

Not familiar with the "HD switch" kit you guys are referring to.

My personal quest is to find the bearings in a high speed precision flavor.

@tgranthamfd  agree with others on the bearing upgrade / lubrication , would also detail in the side to side , shuck on the wheel fitting , very easy to add a few washers to firm that up , that excess side play , eats the bearing mount area alive , while in the area . jack up the front end and get some lucas red / green grease , in center axel mount point ,grease spindles , so grease comes out the top , lubricate your steering gear and tye rod ends , how sloppy is the top of your steering column? thats a whole other issue . just some suggestions . pete

Yep ... if your rims have the grease fittings give them a shot too every now and then.

My light duty tractors I just put the seal back in and don't grease them.

Don't know if that's a good idea or not but as cheap and as easy they are to replace...:confusion-shrug:
