RJC1965 160 #1 Posted May 14, 2023 Well I did it again before yesterdays buy I have 2 520H one dedicated blower with cab and the other well I was going to put my loader on it but now I think I will put it on my new 522xi. This is a very clean machine and has 1200hr on it and a two owner unit with me being the third. It included all the manuals and spare keys as well. Seems to need a tune up but maybe it’s just more quite then my 520’s are. I will be doing a full maintenance one it before trying to fix the kwik-way on it as it was for a 520 so will be some fabricating involved. See pictures below. This is the way I picked it up should clean up nicely after a good bath.
Pullstart 62,841 #2 Posted May 14, 2023 Awesome! Make sure to check that front axle pivot pin. They tend to wear more than one would hope.
kpinnc 12,016 #3 Posted May 14, 2023 Looks pretty awesome for 1200 hours. Maybe someone left the key in the run position or something?
sergeant 291 #4 Posted May 14, 2023 That 522Xi will be a find Loader tractor with Power steering. Boy, how I hate loaders on Garden tractors without Power steering. My 1st Garden tractor with a Loader was a 1999 White GT2055. The Kwik-way's are Excellent loaders, but if your tractor doesn't have Power steering. It can be a tiring day doing a lot of loader work. I really wish Don M did Not sell Kiwk-way to Hitch Doc Because He'd probably still have the Loader sub frames and pump set-up in stock for the 5Xi series to easily convert that Kwik-way loader for the 520H to a 5Xi series. I think Hitch Doc threw out a lot of Kwik-way's loader Parts Inventory when they took over the company
Shynon 7,459 #5 Posted May 15, 2023 I have a 522xi with an Ark loader on it. If I remember correctly I think I had to add about 6" in width.
RJC1965 160 #6 Posted May 15, 2023 Pullstart I saw your post and great write up I will be checking that before I start any loader plans. I really wish that kwik-way was still around and I could buy the carriage components to mount up the loader. I think some one on here did a very detailed write up on getting his kwik-way on a 522xi and I beleive they are from Wisconsin. First order once I get back from training all week in Milwaukee will be lots of maintenance and TLC. Also a compression test as well just to make sure everything is up to snuff. I agree kpinnc that it is so clean for the hrs on it that maybe someone left the key on. Shynon that Ark loader looks awesome on your 522xi nice clean rig and looks like you are getting some good use out of it. i posted a pic of the loader on my 520 but I took it off and made that 520 a snowblower only then bought a second low hr 520 for the loader but had some electrical issues and never got around to fixing it. I will keep you all posted on my progress and findings. 1

Snowmobileaddict 403 #8 Posted May 15, 2023 Here's another way to address the front pivot pin in the event you don't have access to a machine shop. No welding or machining required:
JoeM 7,873 #9 Posted May 15, 2023 (edited) I found this in my xi loader build files might help with the subframe. Nice little group for FEL machines on FB https://www.facebook.com/groups/626106031854903 Edited May 15, 2023 by JoeM

CasualObserver 3,408 #11 Posted May 15, 2023 Me too @JoeM, appreciate the heads up on that one. Nice resource since like-branded FELs cross many brands of tractors.
