bc.gold 3,403 #1 Posted May 12, 2023 Recently ordered a head gasket was told no stock had to order it in, paid for the part with shipping - still waiting. I've come to the conclusion the folks I'm supporting are waiting on an Amazon order to arrive. 1 1
ri702bill 8,316 #2 Posted May 13, 2023 (edited) Agreed. I had to buy a 47/64" twist drill to be used prior to reaming holes to 3/4". Bought one on Fleabay from a seller in NYC. She too had NO inventory, she took orders and went to HER local Home Depot - bought it there the next day and used their snail-mail free delivery to have it sent to me. She made $2 for her time over the cost of the item and had to pay the Fleabay listing fee!! A week and a half from hitting "Pay Now" until it showed up. My local Echo Dearler used to be a Toro Dealer also, but no longer. I needed a Unidrive case gasket - ordered it from him - took a week to get. He now adds what UPS charge he incurs to get it sent to his store - never did before. I asked why - he said that he was now like me - not a Toro dealer...... Here in RI, there are almost no stocking retailers of any kind - the state AND local Inventory Taxes make it almost impossible to do so. Bill. squonk 41,084 #3 Posted May 13, 2023 Iventory cost $$$$ People complain how it costs more at a local store when they can get it on the net cheaper. Then they complain when a local store closes because they lost business to the net McMaster Carr has just about everything and you get it in no more than 2 days. Folks complain they are expensive There are a million sellers on the net that sell stuff cheap with free shipping and folks complain on how long it takes to get it. 1
