Turning radius c175 vs 312-8

Recommended Posts

It seems as though my c175 turns sharper than my 312-8. I haven’t measured but that’s how it feels when driving it. Does anyone have any info about that? I thought they had the same front ends minus the front tire size

thanks

IF they have the same front axle AND the same wheelbase, then they SHOULD turn the same...MAYBE tire size might contribute to a difference.....Is the track on the rear ( the width of the outer edges of the tires the same)??

Have you tried both directions, there have been some Wheel Horses that the triangle on the steering shaft was welded off center.

Most Wheel Horses turn left tighter on purpose for trimming around trees. The deck chutes are on the right.

:confusion-confused:      I always figured they were set up to turn left because of Wheel Horse's association with the Indianapolis 500 and NASCAR sponsorship.  :confusion-shrug:

:auto-driving:                 GO FAST; TURN LEFT.             :auto-swerve:

I believe that's squonk stories. I do know that the cemetery in Concord, bought short frame Wheel Horses as long as they could get them because they turned shorter then any other makes.

Short framers turn nice and short. They also came with RD decks so it they didn't need one radius shorter than the other. Every long frame tractor I ever had, (about 12)  + a 210-H lawn tractor, have turned tighter to the left.
