Recommended Posts

4x4.8x8 tires on my new trailer or completely dry rotted. What is the best replacement tires. I'm not looking for a showpiece, will just use to tow the kids around with 312-8!

Tractor supply, amazon..

Deestone seems to be a great tire most the time.  They are affordable and I’ve never had an issue with one - they generally run small, but they fit the wheel anyway!

A tube would probably blow thru that tire. You can buy complete wheel barrow wheels and tire for short money from just about anywhere.

I’ve found small tire & wheel combos at HF for less than the cost of a tube.  Will they last?  Probably a while.

I’m not sure, but I’d recommend making sure the latch spring is present and in working order.  I’ve been dumped, and I’m sure plenty others have too!

Mrs Sylvan "suggested" that I put a pin with cable attached locking pin on the tipping mechanism when hauling the Littles around... once in awhile I do listen and follow instructions...

I just realized I have 2 front tires/wheel sets from a 212-H. Will they slide on the axle and work? 15x6x6

They probably both have a 3/4" axle.  Should work fine, if not the wheel barrow tires could be a good choice though most od them have a 5/8" axle so the bearing would need to be replaced with a 3/4".

Be sure to wire that latch closed when haulin the kids around.    :jaw:

I purchased some wheel barrel tire/rim combo's for my tub trailer from Tractor Supply.3/4" id bearings slid right on, had to use some spacers to take up the extra room on the axles. Always stored inside when not in use, had them for about 4yrs. This spring when hauling some young un's around one of the tires split down the tread rib & blew out. I think that I am going to replace the tires with 4.80-8 trailer tires.

I thought I had the problem solved with my warning sticker - Lovingly prepared by @Vinylguy and applied by me to protect and coddle the Littles... :D
