The domestic 518-H used the Eaton 700 transmission. The European 518-H used the Eaton 1100.

 

So if your tractor doesn't have hydraulic lift, it's a domestic model. Per the manual, they shouldn't use any ground engaging attachments.

 

That 700 series pump won't tolerate the loading that the 1100 will. It produces about 1/3 of the torque. Depending on what you push with it, you can destroy the transmission.

The extension is only needed for the tractors with the swept forward front axle that is found on most 520 tractors.

I can attest to this. 700’s are great for mowing the lawn or blowing snow. Pushing one at more than crawl speed will wreck it VERY quickly (you’ll see metal flecks in the oil reservoir).
