Thompson1276 256 #1 Posted May 5, 2023 Just low rided my 856, that has a HH100 Tecumseh (big block short frame) with points. And she rips but even better fits the rat rod look. Yes I have the drive belt guard just need to shop it a little to make it fit. Took me 6-8 hours to do only specials tools I needed was a angle grinder if anyone was thinking about doing it too and I have it held it with the bottom holes for th transmission at the top holes on the frame and then brackets to hold the top in place if you don’t it’ll wanna fold in on itself 2 2 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

If it's just relying on those snap rings to support them and hold the weight don't go too fast because eventually they will indeed fail and it's going to stop FAST too. The larger engine pulley and small transmission pulley increase ground speed but reduce torque to the wheels. Like your drive belt idler setup, gives the driven pulley a good amount of surface contact with the belt. Yeah that was my goal to make it not slip and does better I got to say it uses the same belt to drive the 42” mower decks so I have hundred of em if it breaks and pulleys off the old PTO pulleys and one off a tiller pto pulley she’s rigged but that’s why I like it 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

And if you add some thrust washers or thrust roller washers it will take most of the spindle turning forces off of trying to turn the bolts.
