oliver2-44 9,761 #1 Posted April 28, 2023 (edited) Replumbing my house with PEX has certainly taken up some of my time. Now I've been waiting on a contractor to replace the Masonite siding with Hardie, and then reroof the house. I've had several soft spots in the Masonite. Most of it was fine, but 10% of it was failed/soft spots. I've "patched/hardened them with Mimwax penetrating epoxy, but they keep growing I've been doing the Masonite demo and their installing the OSB subboard, Tyvek and then Hartie. Fasia and soffit stripped and working on removing the Masonite on the gable ends. My wife says I'm to old to be up on ladders doing this work. new window upstairs Lots of debris to haul off Hopefully roofing work should start next week Tuesday. My wife wants me to hire a painting contractor so I'm not working up high. I've gotten a couple of quotes I'm still debating. I have 3 good set of scaffold that would reduce a lot of the ladder work. Decision-pay for a painter and not have much horse money left, or paint it myself and not have any time for horses for a while. ri702bill 8,339 #2 Posted April 28, 2023 I also have a set of 3 used scaffolds, and do use them as needed. Ask your self a couple of questions... Do you LIKE painting?? Got any tractors that need immediate attention to keep them running?? Answer "NO" to the first and "YES" to the second, well, Horses win...!!
oliver2-44 9,761 #3 Posted April 28, 2023 (edited) I don't mind painting. But I do have Horses that need attention. So my answer is YES to both questions. SWMBO response is stay off tall ladders. Edited April 28, 2023 by oliver2-44

My only response is I've been married to SWMBO for over 40 years and hope to stay that way 20 hours ago, WHX?? said: Is that an actual room above the garage? Yes their are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom above that side of the house. Regarding my re-plumbing thread, most of the new PEX has been run between the floor trusses of that upstairs
