image.jpeg.6c2abb0f71b4514d6adb04f4d0e0e1e1.jpeg  Hi. What would the original seat look like and do you think this is the original steering wheel?
Thanks John

Seat & steering wheel are not correct for that tractor.

These pictures are of a 867. The seat is not original, but as close as I could find new. Your seat should look similar. Your steering wheel should be the same as the one in the pictures.

I believe that I purchased the seat from - https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/forum/177-kb-horse-parts/

John, are you planning a restore?  That thing has tons of character the way it is.  As long as the seat is comfy, run it :handgestures-thumbupright:

:text-coolphotos:                 A little TLC and a good bath should make it a great worker. :twocents-02cents:   The belt guard needs to be replaced or you will be grinding a few gears.

No to the restore, I’m leaving it as is. Seat is ok but it is hard to get on it. Im short and fat😊. I thought maybe a low back would be easier to get on.

What belt guard will fit this?  Only the one for the 656?

Most belt guards from a square hood ('65 - early '70's) with a Tecumseh engine will fit your tractor.

This seat was the last one made like this by Bob Ellison.

Similar, yes. The front mounting tab for a Tecumseh is different than one for a Kohler. If you look at the pic below you can see that the mounting tab for the engine is in the middle of the guard in front instead of on top of the guard. Other than the engine missing, the 656 pictured below looks fairly factory correct.

That’s what your 656 should look like but with a one piece seat.
