John2189 445 #1 Posted April 20, 2023 Hi. What would the original seat look like and do you think this is the original steering wheel? Thanks John 4
Achto 27,502 #2 Posted April 20, 2023 (edited) Seat & steering wheel are not correct for that tractor. These pictures are of a 867. The seat is not original, but as close as I could find new. Your seat should look similar. Your steering wheel should be the same as the one in the pictures. I believe that I purchased the seat from - https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/forum/177-kb-horse-parts/ Edited April 20, 2023 by Achto 4
Pullstart 62,783 #3 Posted April 20, 2023 John, are you planning a restore? That thing has tons of character the way it is. As long as the seat is comfy, run it
953 nut 55,065 #4 Posted April 20, 2023 A little TLC and a good bath should make it a great worker. The belt guard needs to be replaced or you will be grinding a few gears.

I thought maybe a low back would be easier to get on.

The front mounting tab for a Tecumseh is different than one for a Kohler. If you look at the pic below you can see that the mounting tab for the engine is in the middle of the guard in front instead of on top of the guard. Other than the engine missing, the 656 pictured below looks fairly factory correct. Edited April 21, 2023 by Achto
