Welcome and enjoy that machine. You might want to relocate the battery hold down--the angled metal is supposed to straddle the front upper edge of the battery so that the clamp hold the battery down and rearward. :)

thanx, fixed that today, painted it black also, rust, Yuk!

It’ll be a goer.

Did I see a lot of dust and debris blow out of the engine when it first kicked over? If yes, you probably want to get the tins off and make sure the cooling fins on both cylinders are really nice and clean with no oil residue.

Also, after you shut it down and the PTO shell was still spinning, It sounded like those bearings will need attention. Not sure if there’s wear, but definitely in need of lubrication. There is a needle bearing between the shell and the crankshaft and another bearing (kinda the opposite of a clutch throwout) that applies the “engagement” pressure to from the PTO bow to the shell.

Others will likely have observed other stuff!
