Here's a map of the circuit. They drive round cones in the shortest time they can. There are penalties for hitting or missing a cone or going the wrong way round one.

I was watching the ones marked green.P1040446.JPG.f323896ac7a71518a7c5fe36c5f4e057.JPG

I had a friend back in the late 1960's that had the exact same problem with a beater of a 1966 Pontiac - except he wrinkled the rear quarter every time the wheel, drum, & axle would depart (wing for you folks across the pond) every time he took a hard turn....

Great pictures - keep 'em runnin'.

Love it. Looks like a blast. I bet it would be really cool on dirt. And maybe a little easier on the wheels. Some of them are really leanin!

Awesome Norm!  Did the right hand drive cars have to go around the track backwards?

Great  pictures, :text-thankyouyellow:.      In the 1960s we had similar events on open country roads. Rather than fastest speed winning the event organizers would drive the course making random stops along the way and the winner would be the car that was closest to time of the organizers trip.

A 1941 Mercury convertible is a rarity in the USA, must be very scarce in Europe.                 :handgestures-thumbupright:
