Also worth considering is that a locked rear does NOT want to turn. If it's a 10 pinion it might not lock that way. Only 8 pinion diffs work that way and each set in sequence needs to be opposite. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

To lock it, have two opposing sets of two headed the same direction. Limited slip takes half the power of the wheel slipping and sends it to the other wheel. It is very easy to get just as stuck with and LSD as you would be with an open rear. Half of zero is still zero afterall. How the power transferred also makes a difference in how well it works. Clutch-style LSDs tend to be more susceptible to that kind of issue. Torsen units, which more closely resemble the 10-pinion rears, are better. They have a lower torque bias and so if you have one wheel standing still and the other spinning fast enough you get get a Torsen to act like a locker. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
